Overview

If you enjoy working directly with students and helping them understand their financial responsibilities—from setting up payment plans to navigating student loans—this on‑site Student Accounts & Collections Specialist role at our Lisle, IL campus is a great opportunity. In this position, you’ll support students and families with payment arrangements, account balances, billing questions, and funding options while collaborating with campus teams to ensure accurate processing, timely disbursements, and smooth experiences during key events like Orientation and Registration.

Responsibilities

Payment Processing & Customer Service

  • Support students and parents with payment plans, account questions, billing clarity, and account updates.

Disbursements

  • Process student refunds, grant awards, and check disbursements accurately and efficiently.

Collections & Account Management

  • Guide students through payment expectations, collect past‑due balances, and maintain accurate financial records from enrollment through graduation.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
    • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Experience: 1-3 years of previous experience; preferably in an institution of higher education or in the customer service industry
    • Some collections, accounting and/or general ledger experience preferred
    • Microsoft Excel intermediate knowledge highly preferred
  • Communicate Effectively: Skilled in clear and effective oral and written communication with a diverse customer base, always maintaining a welcoming and friendly demeanor.
  • Interpersonal skills: builds effective relationships, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, organized, high level of attention to detail, and accuracy
  • Technical Skills: Must have a good understanding of Microsoft Office programs and the ability to learn other systems
