Overview

As an Active Student Specialist (Remote Financial Aid Processor), you will be a vital part of Universal Technical Institute's financial aid operations, primarily responsible for the precise review and processing of active student financial aid files. This role is essential for calculating Title IV tuition credits and ensuring the timely, accurate disbursement of student stipends and loan funds within strict federal guidelines and service agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate Title IV tuition credits with extreme accuracy and ensure processing within mandated federal time frames.
  • Process all student, parent, or lender stipends and refunds with minimal margin for error.
  • Accurately processes student loan disbursements and returns in accordance with service level agreements.
  • Review active student financial aid files for exact correctness and completeness.
  • Coordinate with various campuses and departmental staff to secure and verify required financial aid documentation.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Education: High school diploma/GED required; some college preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of experience in Financial Aid.
  • Certifications: None required.
  • Skill: High attention to detail and a strong concern for exact correctness.
  • Skill: Excellent mathematical skills and proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Skill: Understanding of the timeliness required for returning Federal funds.
  • Skill: Basic computer software aptitude and good communication skills.
