Universal Technical Institute is seeking a strategic and inspiring Division Area Vice President of High School Admissions to lead and develop Regional Admissions Directors in achieving enrollment, start, and show rate goals. This high-impact role focuses on expanding high school access and building strong advocacy among education and business leaders to elevate UTI’s presence and mission.

 

Position Overview:
The Division Area Vice President of High School Admissions provides strategic leadership and oversight to Regional Admissions Directors across multiple territories. Key responsibilities include optimizing admissions performance, expanding market reach, and cultivating industry relationships. The role also leads talent development, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and ensures alignment with UTI’s strategic vision. Through coaching, collaboration, and performance management, the Vice President builds a high-performing admissions team committed to delivering measurable results and advancing UTI’s mission.

 

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with a proven track record in leading remote sales teams, preferably in education or a related field. They possess strong strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams. Experience in multi-site management, talent development, and building external partnerships is essential. A passion for education and a commitment to student success are key to thriving in this role.

 

*This is a remote position, however, it will require the candidate to currently live and travel throughout your assigned region*

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Performance Management
    Drive accountability for seasonal admissions campaigns and activity standards to meet enrollment, start, and show rate goals. Monitor and optimize media and non-media conversion rates, cost per start, and budget adherence across assigned geography.
  • Market Expansion & Relationship Building
    Increase high school access and non-media inquiries. Build top industry relationships within each territory to strengthen UTI’s presence and advocacy.

  • Talent Acquisition & Development
    Lead staffing projections, recruit top talent, and develop a strong leadership bench. Partner with Regional Admissions Directors in the interview and selection process, and support succession planning through coaching, training, and performance management. 

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
    Provide consistent leadership to Regional Admissions Directors and Admissions Representatives. Partner with Regional Admissions Directors, Campus leadership, and Training Directors to align goals, support training, and ensure strategic vision is communicated effectively.

  • Reporting & Compliance
    Submit weekly and monthly performance reports to the SVP of Admissions. Manage policies and processes aligned with UTI’s philosophy and business objectives.

  • Culture & Recognition
    Promote a culture of continuous improvement, recognize employee achievements, and maintain an engaged, motivated team.

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 5+ years of sales experience, including 3–5 years leading remote sales teams
  • Leadership & Communication

    • Proven ability to guide and mentor developing leaders
    • Strong interpersonal, group communication, and relationship-building skills
    • Skilled in coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution
  • Technical & Analytical Skills

    • Proficient in CRM systems for managing and forecasting sales
    • Strong analytical skills with Excel to identify trends and patterns in admissions data
    • Comfortable using digital tools and unified communications platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams)
    • Adaptable to rapidly changing environments and priorities
  • Professional Competencies

    • Effective decision-making, problem-solving, and judgment skills
    • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
    • Capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    • Demonstrated ability to foster long-term stakeholder relationships
  • Additional Requirements

    • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends
    • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle for occasional travel
