The Digital Content Editor is responsible for overseeing and executing the editorial process for digital projects, with a significant focus on building and optimizing website pages to enhance user experience, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) performance, and overall site functionality. In addition to managing content creation across various platforms, including blogs, social media, and digital videos, this role is pivotal in ensuring that all content meets marketing goals and compliance standards. This role will collaborate closely with the Marketing, SEO, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure content is not only compliant but also optimized for performance.

• Build and optimize website pages to ensure they align with the company’s marketing objectives and SEO industry standards (HTML editing)
• Build and update high-converting paid media landing pages (HTML editing) that align with the company’s marketing objectives
• Ensure messaging compliance and brand consistency in all digital marketing communications and advertising materials to help meet and exceed defined critical success metrics for the entire company
• Work closely with Marketing, Compliance and Legal internal stakeholders and leadership to stay on top of critical trends in compliance issues facing the higher education industry
• Edit content of digital projects (website, blog, social media, digital video, etc.) for mechanics, clarity, readability, style guidelines, and compliance standards so they are effective and relevant to their intended audiences
• Develop, implement, and maintain editorial policies and standards for digital content and deliver conformance to regulatory standards, while working to build brand consistency throughout all digital messaging
• Collaborate with the SEO and Content Marketing teams to optimize digital content for search engines and alignment with overall content strategy
• Work in close partnership with Copywriters, Project Manager(s), User Experience Designers, and subject matter experts to deliver effective content, design, and meet technical requirements
• Create and manage process documentation
• Other duties as assigned
Education / Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related major or equivalent experience
• Three (3) years' experience in editing
• Three (3) years' experience with diverse writing styles (depending on audience, type and purpose)
• Two (2) years' experience in HTML editing
• Strong understanding of and familiarity with Associate Press (AP) Style Guide, and associated grammar, punctuation, style, and copy-editing rules
• Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office and content management systems for websites
• Prior experience working in a corporate structure (preferred)
