Position Overview:

The Financial Aid Manager transforms student lives by serving as the campus expert in Financial Aid and Default Management. This fast-paced role requires a self-motivated, confident leader who fosters strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and the corporate office. The ideal candidate excels at building effective, motivated teams through inclusive communication, adapts quickly to change, and collaborates across departments to ensure a positive student experience, timely funding, and leadership growth.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of financial aid professionals.
  • Financial Aid Expert: Develop and implement effective financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Attention to Detail: Oversee the financial aid application process, ensuring financial aid packages are processed and funds received; award processing (grants & Perkins) is accurate and utilizes institutional allocations and all Stafford/PLUS/UNSUB and Alternative loans are processed accurately and timely.
  • Mentorship: Provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentorship to staff.
  • Partnership: Collaborates with campus and home office Financial Aid functional/management teams to improve financial aid processes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum three years’ experience in an administrative position in the Financial Aid office of a public or approved private post-secondary school 
    • Previous Management experience highly preferred
  • Communicate effectively: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Multi-Task: Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in personal computer software applications, including Word, Excel, and Access

 

Work Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
