We’re seeking a seasoned Sr. Security Engineer who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and is passionate about building and maintaining secure, scalable solutions that support digital transformation. Risk Identification & Mitigation
Identifies and investigates risks to the organization using various processes and technologies
Coordinates risk and vulnerability analyses of new and existing systems using industry-standard tools
Leads and tracks remediation of findings from security tests and assessments
Aids or performs incident response and forensic investigations
Manages third-party security engagements, such as penetration tests and risk assessments
Interfaces with internal and external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance, including IT Sarbanes-Oxley engagements
Audits existing systems, applications, and platforms to ensure alignment with security best practices
Evaluates new projects and applications for security requirements, architecture, and design
Recommends and implements security policies, standards, and technologies for both current and future systems
Works closely with Engineering, Operations, and Software Development teams to integrate best-practice security controls into infrastructure, custom software, and databases
Collaborates with system and application owners to enforce security standards and mitigate risks
Interfaces with the user community to assess needs and implement user-focused security solutions
Improves organizational awareness of security practices through education and proactive communication
Supports the governance of security processes across departments to ensure consistent, enterprise-wide security compliance
Education / Experience
Education: High School diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field is preferred.
Experience:
6+ years of hands-on experience in Information Security, with at least 4 years in a dedicated security engineering role
2–4 years of experience designing and deploying security solutions for digital transformation initiatives
2–4 years of experience implementing and managing security features in Microsoft 365 and Azure (PIM, Defender, Azure Policy, Conditional Access, etc.)
2+ years of experience using Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) tools to hunt, detect, and respond to endpoint threats
Proven background in supporting DevOps teams from a security-first perspective
Certification: At least one security certification (CISSP preferred)
Experience embedding security into development and operations workflows (DevSecOps)
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks like FERPA, GLBA, PCI, HIPAA, and SOX
Hands-on knowledge of firewall configuration and administration (Fortinet experience is a plus)
Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to identify areas for improvement and lead continuous security enhancements
