Overview

This role supports students and the overall department as the first point of contact for the Student Services/Experience department. This position is responsible for the management of the traffic within the department. Additionally, this role is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks geared towards the general support of the department to ensure students receive the proper customer service and that all entry-level tasks are completely timely and accurately for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors student traffic for the department and notifies staff when students arrive for appointments.
  • Answers multi-line phone system in a professional manner and directs calls to the appropriate party.
  • Sends out all mailings for the Department and date stamps and disseminates large volume of mail to appropriate staff.
  • Updates and maintains all student files including scanning and linking as needed.
  • Responsible for various data entry tasks within the department ensuring accuracy and timely processing at all times
  • Responsible for issuing a variety of reports for the department and for students to include issuing progress reports, updating local discount information and department bulletin boards.
  • Acts as the backup to various coordinator roles within the department as needed.
  • Other duties as necessary

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or completion of GED required
  • Two years’ experience with customer service and basic administrative tasks

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated, strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of basic computing and word processing applications. Intermediate speed in 10-key.

 

Abilities

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds or less 5% of the workday
  • Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday
  • Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn and reason for all of the workday
  • Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods throughout the workday.

 

Work Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
