Overview

Manages and directs the Education department, provides students with a superior education and experience, and ensures UTI is compliant in regard to legal standards and accrediting bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the Education department by supervising daily operations; monitoring and controlling operating expense budget; building a strong and effective Education team; working with support department leaders and Admissions to support the campus and UTI vision; collaborating with industry contacts to ensure technically relevant programs; directing curriculum delivery and enhancements; and monitoring department metrics, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Provide students with a superior experience and education by developing, training, guiding, and coaching Education Director Assistant, Education Managers, Technical Team Leaders, Chief Instructors and/or Instructors; directing staff activities; defining professionalism standards for staff and students; and communicating and counseling with students and parents.
  • Ensures UTI is legitimate in our operations by following the compliance related responsibilities for this position in the supplemental document.
  • Performs the obligations of a Campus Security Authority (CSA) including data collection and reporting under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act”
  • Establish/maintain a high performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics. 
  • Recognizes and rewards employee contributions and achievements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Business Administration or Management preferred
  • 5 years leadership or management experience

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds or less throughout the workday

  • Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Occasional overnight travel.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate controlled environment.
  • Work is infrequently performed near moving mechanical parts
  • Short periods of limited exposure to non-hazardous levels of dust, light welding fumes or airborne particles.
